I’m Emily. I am a 19-year-old high school student living in Michigan. college student attending Texas A&M University, gig’em! Unlike most kids today, I’ve eaten dinner at the table with my family almost every day of every year. This simple rule in my household is what led to my love of food. Growing up in my mother’s Polish family, gołąbki, pierogi, and kielbasa have basically seeped into my bloodstream. For me, food is a homey comfort as well as a creative outlet.
My real passion however is animals. What kind of person decides to write about food and admits to actually preferring animals? Why yes, that would be me. I’ve been an animal lover since a little girl, from dogs to rats to rhinoceros. I hope that my future continues with my passion- I dream of becoming a veterinarian or ethologist. I also wouldn’t be surprised if I become a dog lady in the middle of nowhere.
I use a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS for my photography. It’s a nice little bridge camera that I bought so I could get use to all the fancy clicks and gadgets before spending oodles on a DSLR.
So I broke down and bought myself a Canon Rebel T2i, and I am absolutely in love with it. It’s gotten to the point where it has become a part of me, taken literally everywhere I go. For my food photography I use either the kit lens the Rebel came with, the Canon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6, or the Canon 50mm f/1.4

what about the other side (mine) of your family – the british banger, shepherds pie, steak and kidney pie, indian food….?
You have a great blog here, Emily! I love your mention of eating at the dinner table every night with your family. When I was growing up, it was the same in my household… We had to sit down to a meal together every night, even though sometimes I didn’t want to. Cherish those moments! I look forward to seeing more from you – Keep up the good work!
Great job cousin!!! very talented girl you are.
